Is it actually free, or is this a trial?

Free for scientists, with no trial clock and no card required. Adept is paid for by the manufacturers who make the kits you run, not by you or your lab.

Do I have to install anything?

No. Adept runs in your browser at app.adept-scientific.com, so there is nothing for you or your IT team to approve. The iOS app is in private beta if you would prefer a native app.

Which protocols are supported?

We are starting with NGS library prep and adding protocols continuously. Open the app to see what is live today, and tell us which kit you run so we can prioritize it.

What if my kit is not in Adept yet?

Tell us. Requests from working scientists decide what we build next, and the kits people ask for most get added first.

Will it work in a biosafety cabinet or fume hood?

That is what it was built for. Prop your phone on a bench stand or just outside the cabinet, and drive the whole run by voice without de-gloving.

Who can see my experiments?

Your data is encrypted and is not used to train third-party models. Manufacturers who sponsor a protocol see how their kit performed, not your results or your project. See Your data above, or our security page, for the full picture.
